Canadian Championships this weekend July 24 & 25 in Aldergrove

Fastdraw will be basically in my backyard! Dennis and Karen Robinson of the Thunderbird Fastdraw Club will be hosting the Canadian Championship contest in Aldergrove for the Aldergrove Fair Days this weekend July 24th & 25th. There will also be a parade on Saturday starting at 10am that I will be in as well. So if you feel like some fun and are interested in seeing what fastdraw is all about come check me and many other shooters at the Canadian Championship in Aldergrove! I have not went to all the shoots this year, but I will hope to redeem myself at this contest. Although I haven’t practiced but they say its like riding a bike haha! Final in Jamestown

Well the outcome is not what I wanted but what I did expect. This is probably the first contest since I started that I did not place. Like they say you can’t win them all. Oh how nice it is though! Congratulations to Judy & Chuck for their win! Well the next contest is in Medicine Bow, Wyoming, not 100% sure if I will be going but now that I am feeling better, I can start to maybe practice a bit and hope to redeem myself at the next shoot I attend. Update on California Contest

So the first events of the first day are all over with. Not really the outcome I wanted but there is still one more day to go! Its not over until its over, although there is no way I can come from that far behind, being 12 misses. However I can jump up a few places and put myself in a better situation for the all around. So wish me luck for the rest of the competition, and I’ll post the final scores tomorrow. adios

1st contest of 2010 in Jamestown, California

Yes it is the 1st contest of the year, tomorrow April 24th & 25th in Jamestown California. Just like every year I am not ready and haven’t really practiced. This is normal, as until you go to a contest practice is just practice and usually very boring, no competition or drive. This year however was very tough for me to practice as I have been for an MRI and found out that I have a buldged disc in my lower back, which is pressing on my sciatic nerve making my right leg numb. And if you have ever seen my shooting stance then you can understand that it’s not easy with an injured back. But that is no excuse I am going to go out like always and if I do good it is a surprise to myself like always. So the best of luck to all, and let’s shoot em up! Ps this is my first post and more nerve racking then shooting haha jk
